English is the primary language of scientific communication today, whether for publishing papers or exchanging emails between researchers. This course is designed to help graduate students interested in pursuing an academic career develop the norms and skills of academic writing in various contexts.
Students will become familiar with the logic and structure of academic English writing and develop the habit of reading and taking notes in English. The course will be primarily taught through on-site writing practice, supplemented by brief lectures and peer review sessions.
By the end of the course, students will acquire essential writing skills, including note-taking, journal manuscript preparation, and review assessment. These skills will be valuable for those planning to pursue careers in academia, media, or publishing.
